Three flags used by Traditionalist Catholics - Images by Ivan Sache, 20 November 1997
A plain white flag charged with the Sacred Heart of Vendée is mainly used by the most traditionalist (royalists) traditionalists.
A blue flag with the same emblem, surrounded by 12 yellow fleurs-de-lis, was used during the consecration of a new church by traditionalists near Paris.
Traditionalists who accept the French Republic use a French Tricolore flag charged with the Sacred Heart of Vendée<. Such a flag appears as a sticker on many cars in Versailles, which is a stronghold of Catholic traditionalism. Sometimes charged with mottos in golden letters, the flag is often used in general Catholic events (such as visits of the Pope). It is also used in demonstrations of the Front National (who claims to be republican).
